Improvisational Introduction Series Class 1

Myriah Duda will be guiding students through various movement, sound and compositional prompts, that are used in her performances.

This is part 1 of a 4 class series Tuesdays in June.

To register, or for more information contact Myriah: 505-399-0087

I find improv the most incredible practice for life and relationships. In an improvisation, we are forced to be extremely present; in touch with our body and the moment. We must be hypersensitive to let go of any preconceived agenda about what needs to happen.

Our improvisational style is highly abstract. InsideOut is working with several tools/prompts from which the improvisers may choose, depending on the moment. The most important tool is presence: listening and responding spontaneously. I guide them in cultivating their authenticity, connectedness, and honesty with themselves and each other.

I hope you are surprised, enraptured, and, most importantly, able to put yourself in the performers' shoes. My goal, as a director, is to engage you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Specifically, using the architectural positioning of where the performers are on stage, the felt congruence or dissonance of how they interact with one another, and their chosen sounds, words, and movements. I hope you’re inspired to communicate your authenticity more in your everyday life as you watch us do it on stage.
